Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippur Service Options
Come Together in 5783 for Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippur Services
The High Holidays of the past two years were like nothing we have experienced before. With livestreaming, masks, social distancing, and virtual experiences, the High Holidays of 5781 and 5782 will forever be unique in our memories. The accommodations during those years were necessary and appropriate given the state of the Pandemic and so we all experienced the holidays in a variety of different ways and locations.
As we begin 5783, we hope you’ll consider joining us in-person to mark the beginning of the New Year and a new normal. The experience of standing together as one Kehilah Kedoshah, one sacred community, is something that cannot be fully matched virtually. The collective effervescence we feel standing and singing alongside members of our community is a way of heightening all our spirits, so we hope you’ll be able to join us at CBI for these High Holidays. Please see below for our in person Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippur service options for this year.
We know the pandemic is still ongoing so livestreaming options will continue to be available for those who need them. At the same time, we hope you’ll utilize the livestream only for those who truly do not feel medically safe coming together.
CBI's Main Sanctuary Service
Join Rabbi Tilman and Cantor Axelrod in the CBI Sanctuary for our traditional Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services. These services will include a full liturgy, congregational honors, communal singing, as well as the Rabbi’s sermons. We hope our sanctuary service will help you feel connected to our tradition, to our community, and be spiritually fulfilled for the year ahead. Come together with us for these inspiring moments and uplifting music to celebrate the New Year.
Sanctuary services will begin at 9am and conclude at about 12:30pm.
CBI’s High Holiday Gesher Service
Join Rabbi Tilman, Cantor Axelrod, and Aviva Tilles for this special, interactive, and abridged service. Do you sometimes feel a little overwhelmed with the full Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur service and liturgy? The Gesher (bridge) Service is a place to feel more at home with the texts, melodies, and themes of the day. This unique prayer experience will feature all the highlights of the service including the Shofar, Avinu Malkeinu, U’netaneh Tokef, as well as an interactive version of the Rabbi’s sermons. The service is open to people of all ages and is encouraged for those families with children in third grade and older. We hope our Gesher Service is a place for students, adults, and families to sit together in song, conversation, and celebration.
The Gesher Service will meet outdoors in the CBI tent beginning at 10am and will conclude at 11:30am, in time for anyone to attend Musaf in the Sanctuary.
If health considerations require you to attend any services via Livestream, please contact the CBI office at 908-889-1830 or via email at office@cbisp.org to receive more information.
