Handel’s “Solomon”

Who exactly was King Solomon and what is his connection with the great composer?

A brief study in both discussion AND music…

Join Rabbi Tilman as he teaches us about King Solomon and what we know about the last great king of the United Monarchy – his life, his writings, and his legacy.

Then learn briefly about George Frideric Handel’s great classical work of which the king was the titular subject, the oratorio “Solomon” written  in 1748.

Finally, see a rare live performance of “Solomon” in grand fashion as we meet at Carnegie Hall for this special presentation followed the week after with one last discussion of Solomon set in the context of what we learned and heard at the concert.

This is an exciting and unique experience not to be missed but capacity is limited by the number of tickets reserved for the performance.
