CBI Legacy Circle

Create a Jewish Legacy

As a member of CBI, you support our shul in a variety of ways, but have you thought to include us in your estate plan? By leaving a legacy, you can help assure that the connection you feel for our congregation and the Jewish community will exist for future generations.

Your participation in the community-wide Create a Jewish Legacy (CJL) program does not require a cash donation today. It is simply a promise for the future. A legacy commitment will enable you to:

All of us, regardless of age or wealth, have the ability to leave a legacy. Your legacy gift can be structured to fit your family’s financial situation. The simplest methods of leaving a legacy are by adding or changing a beneficiary designation on a retirement plan, IRA, life insurance policy or through a codicil to a will. Your legacy commitment can be stated as a specific dollar amount or percentage.

We are now in year three of a program in which the Harold Grinspoon and Jewish Community Foundations have offered an incentive grant of $7,000 per year to each of the original fifteen synagogues and agencies in our Greater Metrowest Community that is able to secure six new commitments by legacy commitments by June 30, 2017. Gifts of $1,000 minimum per person made today will also count towards this incentive grant.

We invite you to join our CBI Legacy Circle

“With the help of CBI, I had the opportunity to live and work in Israel while on a Masa program from August 2016-February 2017. Although I had been to Israel 3 times before, this trip truly allowed me to integrate with the Israeli society. I had a chance to celebrate the high holidays, hike Mitspe Ramon, swim in the Gilabun, roam around Shuk Hacarmel, relax at the Tel Aviv beaches on Shabbat, and everything in between. These are the moments I hope future generations of CBI get to experience. I hope they take advantage of programs in Israel and immerse themselves in the country we are all lucky enough to call home. I hope my legacy gift helps other young adults from our community visit Israel and feel the same love for the country as I do. I’m very excited to move there at the end of May and look forward to other members of CBI visiting and sharing their connection to Israel with me! L’Chaim! Best, Julie Deutsch”
